About ATA Company

The company “ATA” is the largest national producer of cube sugar, sugar in sticks and sugar powder.

The company was founded in 1998 and it has successfully worked in Ukrainian market since. Under its own trademarks TM “ATA” and TM “SakharOk” it issues the high quality products which are certified according to the requirements of international quality standards and food product safety. The company has implemented the food safety management system which is in conformity with the standard FSSC 22000:2011. The company is a direct importer of brown cane sugar from Mauritius.

The production capacities of the company are located in Kiev city. The company sells its products directly to the buyers as well as through a network of its distributors in all cities and regions of Ukraine. We work with well-known national and international trade networks.

Operation of modern high capacity equipment, strict compliance with production technology rules, using of exclusively high quality raw sugar and materials used for production of ready products are a pledge of advantages of the products of the company “ATA” trademarks.

The mission of the company is to provide the customers in all cities and villages of Ukraine with the highest quality products at the most affordable price.

Currently ATA has its own modern industrial facility and warehouse in Kiev. The company is manufacturing products under its own brands "ATA" and "SaharOk" also brands of other companies with zero hand touch with the product in high technology automated European lines certified in Ukraine. During the production we only use high quality domestic raw materials and for brown sugars product line, we only use best quality sugars in the world imported from Mauritius Island directly.

Production of cube sugar process combines the processes of cleaning the granulated sugar from impuruties, drying it to an ideal level before rehumidiating and pressing it in matrixes with water, redrying it in special temperature cycles, cooling and packaging. The entire production process is strictly controlled by production and quality control departments of the company.

Production of the company meets international quality and food safety standards and is certified by Bureau Veritas with FSSC 22000 quality management system.

Products manufactured by LLC “ATA” meet the requirements of food safety regulations and are certified according to the food safety management system, FSSC 22000, accredited and controlled by Bureau Veritas. FSSC 22000 is the world's leading, independently managed, nonprofit food certification scheme for ISO 22000-based certification of food safety management systems. Acknowledged by GFSI for the manufacture and processing of foods and food packaging materials, FSSC 22000 retains the flexibility to add scopes in line with market demands.

The conformity of quality indicators, properties and specifications of food with the normative documents are accredited with the UkrSEPRO certificates of conformity.

Product quality and safety is under control in every process of the production. Raw materials are filtered by sieves from impurities and taken trough magnetic separators to remove any possible metal content. All production machinery are designed and made in the way to keep away microbiological organisms out of the product. Production cycle is fully control with automatic machines with zero hand contact with the product.

All raw materials and packing materials are strongly controlled with accompanying quality certificates from their manufacturers, sanitary certificates and certificates of conformity.

Necmi Dogan, a Turkish businessman who is not only known in his own origin country of Turkey, but also in Ukraine which he counts as his second homeland after a long successful life in business there.

Mr. Dogan started his business in Ukraine in 1996, he used say “instead of doing investment to economically already developed countries, I decided to go to Ukraine in opposite of most Turkish investors at that time. I made my decision taking in consideration of the big potential of Ukrainian people who are hard workers and kind people.

It’s not a secret that in eastern countries there is a big habit and tradition of drinking tea. It is used to be on every dinner table a box of cube sugar. Mr. Dogan was one of the first person who saw that there is not a manufacturing of cube sugar in Ukraine while there was a big demand on it. In 1998, he decided to start a cube sugar manufacturing company in Kiev, Ukraine which he named “Ata”.

“Cube sugar market was free to invest that time. To make our product recognizable, we always used raw materials with high quality. Our mission was to produce high quality product with a good price and make it usable in every house. We had a lot of difficulties in the beginning of course, but we did not wait long to have good sales results.”

At first, there was only one cube sugar manufacturing line. After some years, production lines and space are extended and Ata started to launch new types of sugar products. Since November 2007, managing director of the company become Mr. Ozan Yasin Dogan, elder son of Mr. Necmi Dogan.

Between 2012 and 2013, Ata has started implementing world class food safety standard of FSSC 22000:2011 from Bureau Veritas and completely renewed its production facility according to it. During implementation of FSSC, production scheme and technological process is redeveloped to meet the highest standards. Also in 2013, product range of the company is extended remarkably; it was added new packing machines for citric acid, gelatin, sugar with vanillin, granulated brown sugar in Doypack packaging and rough cut brown sugars.

Today, Ata is successfully holding the leadership in packaged sugar industry, holding more than %70 of market share. You can find company’s product range in all national and international retail markets in Ukraine like: Metro C&C, Fozzy Group, Furshet, Auchan, Megamarket, Ekomarket, Karavan etc…

Ata has also invested in 2013 to Nigerian market building a new cube sugar manufacturing facility in Lagos State, Nigeria. Production of this company has also started in 23rd of April, 2014. Our group is aiming to make further investments in Ukraine and all around the world to deliver quality food products with affordable prices for our valuable consumers.
